Hi, I’m Jill, but most people call me Jillysue.
 

I’m a wife, mom of three, marketer, coach and recent empty nester figuring out what comes next. After more than 15 years in marketing and communications, I recently found myself unexpectedly between jobs. So, now, I have some time to write.

Professionally, I’ve led marketing and communications teams, built strategies and campaigns, coached people and spent a lot of time making complicated things easier to understand. I’m a Miami University grad with a mini-MBA and professional coaching certification through CoachU. I’ve held senior leadership roles, including leading a team of 28, and I’m especially proud of my work supporting women in leadership and equity in the workplace.

Personally, life looks a little different these days. Our three kids are grown, so my husband and I have traded years of practices, games and carpools for travel, concerts, camping with friends and an unreasonable amount of attention paid to our dachshund, Moose, a two-time wiener dog race champion.
 

Of course, life isn’t always the fun stuff. Our family has navigated career changes, health challenges and some genuinely hard days. I want to write about those things too, with honesty, positivity and, whenever possible, a sense of humor.
 

I care deeply about women’s issues, creating space for voices that need to be heard and talking about the things we sometimes pretend are easier than they really are.

That’s what this blog is about: the good, the hard and everything in between. If something I’ve learned, experienced or completely screwed up helps someone else navigating a similar chapter, even better.
